​90 Days of Employment

Congratulations on completing 90 days of employment with the commonwealth.  After 90 days of employment, you become eligible for our supplemental benefit program and possibly reduced costs for other programs.

​Important note: Costs will be different for part-time employees.  Please call the HR Service Center for details.

  • No dependent buyup for Basic PPO and HMO
  • No cost for prescription coverage if enrolled in a medical plan.
  • No cost for supplemental coverage, which includes dental, vision, and hearing aid reimbursement plans if enrolled in a medical plan.

If you enrolled in medical coverage during onboarding, you will have been pre-enrolled in prescription coverage as of your 90-day point.  No further action is required to enroll you in this coverage.  If you did not enroll in coverage during onboarding and wish to self-enroll at 90 days, please call the HR Service Center to enroll.

If you wish to enroll dependents and/or a spouse into PEBTF coverage as of your 90-day point, the PEBTF Employee With Child and/or Spouse packet will explain exactly what forms and documentation are needed.

 You may be enrolled in other plans offered by the commonwealth. You should review your designated beneficiaries.

The commonwealth offers several optional insurance programs you may want to consider.  If you already participate in any of these plans, you should review your current choices to ensure they continue to meet your needs.  You may purchase additional life insurance for yourself or your eligible dependents. Likewise, you may also purchase short-term and/or long-term disability coverage.
